I've Got The Power...

I've been having a conversation with a friend of mine regarding the use and also the abdication of power.

The thought goes like this: Every individual and every people group has been given a measure of power. It is then up to the individual or people group to embrace this gift, and make use of it to improve and maintain their own and the lives of others.

One thing that frustrates my friend more than anything is when some individual or people group does not make use of the aforementioned gifts. To my friend, to not take proper advantage of this gift is akin to an American citizen denying his/herself of the "inalienable rights" afforded by the laws of this great land (another week of blog posts by it self!)

This "abdication of power" is no small thing, as it can prevent an individual or people group from reaching their destiny. It can prevent the necessary flow of commerce, and even prevent the necessary rise and fall of the "powers that be"
In any case, for this abdication of power, there is no small price to pay.

In an effort to assist with the maintenance of my friend's sanity, and with the hope of pointing some individual or people group to the right track, in the next couple of posts, I'll look at what could lead an individual or people group to abdicate their power, and also what it takes to reclaim/regain said power
